Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers Needed
Before the Event:
1. Promotion & Marketing Support:
- Distribute flyers or posters in local businesses and public spaces.
2. Decorations and Setup:
- Help with assembling Christmas decorations such as lights, garlands, and
signage. - Set up vendor booths and ensure each space is properly marked and
organized. - Assist with assembling stages, and other special areas
3. Donation and Sponsorship Gathering:
- Reach out to local businesses for raffle prize donations or additional
sponsorships.
During the Event:
1. Start-of-Day Set up:
- Assist with opening all vendor booths, stocking/re-stocking areas in
need, ensure Market area is tidy.
2. Welcome and Information Booths:
- Greet attendees, distribute event guides, maps, and answer questions.
- Provide event information, dog costume contest sign-ups, and the
schedule for performances or special activities.
3. Vendor Assistance:
- Help vendors with booth setup and take-down as needed.
- Act as a runner to bring supplies, water, or other assistance to vendors
throughout the day.
4. Entertainment/Stage Event Assistance:
- Assist with Raffle on 11/30 after the OSU/Michigan Game.
- Assist with the dog costume contest by checking in participants, guiding them to the stage, or helping with judging coordination.
- Assist Entertainers/Performers with transport of equipment, as needed.
5. Crowd Management and Safety:
- Help direct foot traffic and keep pathways clear.
- Monitor the event area for any safety concerns and assist security if
needed.
6. Waste Management:
- Ensure trash and recycling bins are emptied regularly and keep the event
space clean.
7. End-Of-Day Shut Down:
- Assist in making sure all booths are locked, and everything is secure.
Post-Event Clean-Up:
- Help with tearing down vendor booths, packing up decorations, and
ensuring the venue is left in good condition.
