  • Typically held in the weeks leading up to Christmas, Christmas Markets are outdoor events usually set in a city center that feature a variety of vendors selling holiday-related items, crafts, foods, and beverages. Twinkling lights and Christmas decorations enhance the festive atmosphere, while sounds of holiday music spread the joy of the season.

    Christmas Markets date all the way back to Medieval Europe, particularly in German-Speaking regions. The "Striezelmarkt" held in Dresden, German, is one of the oldest and most well-known Markets, dating back to 1434.

  • The Market will be held at the Schade-Mylander Plaza, located at 108 W. Shoreline Dr., in Downtown Sandusky.

  • There is no cost for admission. Sandusky Christmas Market is free and open to the public.

  • We aim to make the Market as accessible as possible to ALL. There are ramps and accessible restroom facilities on-site.

  • Bring cash and card for purchases, be sure to wear comfortable shoes, and dress warmly (this event is held entirely OUTDOORS), and your holiday spirit!

  • There will be dozens of vendors offering a variety of handmade crafts, holiday decor, unique gifts, food and beverages. Please visit our Vendor List page for an up-to-date list of Vendors!

  • Most vendors do accept credit/debit cards, however, there may be a few that will only accept cash.

  • The Market will have a stage set up to showcase local choirs, and entertainers, in addition to other exciting events. Please see the Event Calendar on our website for the most up-to-date information!

  • There are a number of parking lots, the Public Parking Garage, as well as on-street parking.

    An updated parking map will be available closer to the Market dates.

  • There are lots of ways to support this year's Market. Apply to be a Vendor, or check out the different Sponsor Packages.

    We are also looking for a variety of entertainment (local choirs, musicians, etc.) to perform on the Christmas Market stage. If you or your group would like to participate, please EMAIL US.

  • The Sandusky Christmas Market will operate, as weather permits. However, in case of extreme weather conditions, the decision will be made and communicated via our website and social media channels.
